Senior Alteryx Developer

Position Overview :

We are seeking a talented Senior Alteryx Developer with a strong background technology and a passion for excellence to join our dynamic IT team.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our catastrophe risk modeling efforts, using Alteryx, while also leveraging your expertise in agile frameworks, Microsoft Azure, and working with large complex datasets.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain robust solutions that drive business insights and inform strategic decision-making.

Essential Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Alteryx workflows to support catastrophe risk modeling processes.
• Utilize agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) to effectively manage project deliverables and priorities.
• Apply a solid understanding of Alteryx to develop innovative solutions that address business needs.
• Leverage Microsoft Azure services and tools to optimize data processing and analytics workflows.
• Work with large datasets to extract insights and drive informed decision-making.
• Bring reinsurance industry experience to the table, contributing valuable insights and domain knowledge.
• Be hands-on and proactive in identifying and addressing technical challenges and opportunities.
• Demonstrate a drive for excellence and quality in all aspects of work.
• Ensure sufficient and accurate documentation of workflows, processes, and solutions.
• Work effectively both as an individual contributor and as part of a collaborative team environment.

Other Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong business and IT relationships both regionally and globally.
• Function as part of the US development team aligning with best practice and governance.
• Able to work collaboratively as part of a team and also as an individual contributor.
• Ability to work directly with end-users and operate within the development lifecycle.
• Capable of working in a waterfall and agile workspace, assisting with the transition into Agile.
• Assist in championing and driving forward Agile practices and principles.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft technologies, specifically Azure.
• Experienced in the use of Azure DevOps.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years' experience as an Alteryx developer is required.
• A minimum of 8 years' experience (re)insurance preferred.
• Experience with Catastrophe Risk Modeling is a plus but not required.
• Strong proficiency in Alteryx Designer, including workflow development, data blending, and spatial analytics as a plus.
• Experience with agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and project management methodologies.
• Microsoft certified developer is a plus.
• Certified Scrum Developer or equivalent is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, analytical skills, and critical thinking.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (both written and verbal).
• Must be collaborative and a team player with the desire to be part of a growing team.

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide marker range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country.

The actual salary advanced to the desired candidate will be based on a number of factors, including geographic location and the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the desired candidate.
