High Tech Genesis is seeking a highly skilled RF VoNR Engineer with expertise in 5G SA (VoNR) technology and signaling flow.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of L3 protocols and extensive experience in troubleshooting and analyzing VoNR call flows.

In this role, you will :

  • Plan, design, and deploy the 5G standalone cloud-native Open-RAN network.
  • Optimize network performance through continuous improvement activities.
  • Use advanced data analytics and visualization tools for various network assessments and KPI analysis.
  • Analyze market trends and evaluate competitive networks.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) support for network issues, RAN features / parameter trials, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead projects from concept to deployment with detailed recommendations for network and service solutions.
  • Collaborate effectively with multiple teams to identify growth opportunities and drive project success.
  • Manage vendor interactions and lead efforts in KPI optimization.
  • Work on 5G NR and Legacy network design, performance enhancement, and optimization.
  • Propose new site locations and optimize existing site parameters such as tilt and azimuth.
  • Create and maintain RFDS, CIQ, and relevant scripting.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve overall network design and cell planning.
  • Lead RF Engineers and Drive Testing teams to meet FCC coverage and capacity requirements.
  • Create and modify routes in Google Earth for FCC validation, and generate KML files for GIS Automation Tools.
  • Review test plans, routes, and validate testing results.
  • Conduct RF shaping and parameter adjustments to improve coverage and network performance.
  • Analyze cluster performance using drive test data and KPI monitoring to recommend enhancements.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, providing regular updates and maintaining a presence in their office.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports and recommendations to the customer.
  • Facilitate effective communication between the customer and the technical team to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Manage project documentation and ensure all deliverables meet customer expectations.
  • 2-3 years of experience with VoNR (5G SA) technology, including signaling flow and Layer 3 (L3) concepts.
  • Proficiency with Rad COM ACE tool for issue tracing and analyzing traces and call flows.
  • Expertise in protocol analysis and debugging, particularly Samsung and Mavenir IMS Core protocols.
  • Experience in RTT gap analysis across multiple streams and types, including one-way and inter-step RTT.
  • Ability to investigate VoNR call drops, especially under good RF conditions with signal strengths greater than -95 dBm.
  • Experience addressing major VoNR issues, including protocol discrepancies and bugs between core networks and OEMs.
  • Hands-on experience in KPI analysis, specifically with the Nokia Core network.
  • Understanding and experience in 5G Core analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Strong background in RF engineering, focusing on RF shaping and optimization.
  • Proficiency in analyzing RF performance and making adjustments to enhance network quality.
  • Experience using tools like X-CAP for drive test data analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in a customer-facing role within a telecommunications environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with timely delivery and quality.
  • Experience working within predefined parameters and adhering to customer guidelines.
  • Willingness to be based in or relocate to Denver, CO, and be regularly present at the customer’s office.
  • Knowledge of cloud ORAN-based wireless systems and familiarity with 5G technologies.
  • Strong understanding of OSS and KPI monitoring tools.
