Provide instruction both lecture and labs within specific programs; assist academic administrators with curriculum development, student advising / counseling;
enhance program enrollment; provide college and community service.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service
- Provide strong customer service and / or student advocacy as demonstrated through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, strong problem solving and desire to identify and support student success.
- Engage in behaviors that create an inclusive environment in which all people are valued and supported.
- Does not stop with the first or easiest answer to a customer, but gets to the root cause of the problem, question, or issue to solve it as quickly and professionally as possible.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
I. INSTRUCTION -
- Effectively deliver assigned classes in accordance with College loading policy and course objectives
- Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and other course materials.
- Maintain student records, attendance, grades, and or other documentation as required. Maintain a safe, quality classroom or lab, including equipment, supplies, inventory, and maintenance.
II. PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
- Provide academic advising for registration. Maintain regular posted office hours for student interaction each week.
- Support Program Chair in program management activities.
III. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Participates in professional development or scholarly activities that may include in-service, courses, or seminars to advance instructional and technical skills as well as knowledge within the field of study.
IV. COLLEGEWIDE, CAMPUS AND / OR COMMUNITY SERVICE
Serves and participates in campus, regional and College-wide professional, and community activities, committee meetings and task forces.
OTHER FUNCTIONS :
- Participate in student recognition ceremonies.
- Maintain budget requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A qualified faculty member in electronics and computer technology meets all three of the following :
- Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in technology, engineering technology, engineering, or computer science; and
- Completed academic preparation appropriate to the program, and
- Has one of the following : Professional certification in the field orTwo years of directly related work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience teaching at the post-secondary level
TOOLS / EQUIPMENT USED :
Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction.
