General Summary :
This position is responsible for the delivery of intern and scholar recruitment and selection across Unum US and Colonial Life.
The Early Career Talent Advisor is seen as a go to expert on college recruiting and early talent (0.5 3 years’ experience).
They are responsible for building longer-term relationships with college students and early talent as they continue their career journey at Unum.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Execute on early talent sourcing and recruitment strategies for internships and leadership development programs which position Unum to meet current and ongoing staffing requirements across Unum US and Colonial Life .
Assist Early Career Talent Consultants with sourcing for Leadership Development Programs.
Develop str ong relationships with diverse audiences including but not limited to business management; faculty and academic administration;
student organizations, vendors and community resources .
Oversight of all campus recruiting lifecycle components including social media campaign, sourcing, qualifying and assessing students and early career professionals, networking, college market trends and relationship management.
Evaluat e and select c olleges and universities from which to source diverse pool s of candidates and develop relationships, based on business needs.
Plan, coordinate and execute on-campus recruitment efforts and social media campaigns (information sessions, career fairs, interviews).
Proactively identify, network, recruit and close intern and scholar candidate s .
Act as a talent broker between available interns / scholars and talent acquisition, pipeline program leaders and hiring managers .
C ollaborate with broader Global Talent Management organization to ensure that we have the right programs in place to c onsult and educate managers and selection teams on recruiting and selection-related topics and issues.
Maintain a strong understanding of business strategy, external best practi c e and future labor market trends and set challenging performance goals and standards to support achievement of business results.
Promote the employee referral bonus program to create additional pools of quality talent .
Provide expertise on early career benchmarking to ensure competitiveness in hiring .
Partner with Early Career Talent Consultants or direct manager to d evelop alternative recruiting strategies as needed .
May perform other duties as assigned .
Job Specifications
Associates degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
3+ years of successful recruitment and selection experience required.
Insurance industry experience and HR certifications preferred.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Strong written and oral communication skills; highly organized.
Knowledge of OFCCP requirements and effectively managing full life cycle recruitment.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
Knowledge in all full lifecycle recruiting components including, but not limited to, sourcing, qualifying, networking, assessing, legal, job analysis, wage and salary trends, relationship management, and due diligence.
Strong negotiation, decision making and persuasion skills.
Capable of rapport building and interpersonal skills for effective networking.
Must be able to manage competing demands, accept criticism and constructive feedback, while being extremely adaptable and flexible.
Ability to work in a metric driven environment required.
Understanding of the the job market / applicant pool and address challenges with alternate recruiting strategies.
Ability to gain the attention and respect of hiring managers.
Demonstrated ability to function / recruit on a national / international, multi-location level.
Strong technical aptitude : extensive use of internet as a vehicle for sourcing, job postings and researching; Ability to effectively utilize any recruiting systems for tracking and managing applicants;
Ability to grasp MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$53,300.00-$95,900.00
Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.
