Territory Sales Representative
New TERRITORY SALES REPRESENTATIVE
SUMMARY STATEMENT
VAS / AgSource is currently looking to bring an additional Territory Sales Rep to add to our Wisconsin territory. Based on the candidates skills and qualifications, this position may either be an Inside or Outside sales role.
The role will cover Northeast Iowa, Wisconsin, Eastern Minnesota, and Northern Illinois.
Responsible to develop and implement a strong sales program and strategies for services offered by AgSource / VAS Food & Environmental Laboratories.
Must utilize sound selling techniques for prospecting client leads and converting to value added clients, also responsible for maintaining current client / industry relationships.
This position is accountable for meeting defined territory sales targets and goals.
Increase awareness to clients and prospective clients of available services and their applications through regular contact, communications, and educational programs.
Effectively communicate client and market information across multiple locations, necessary staff, and management in a timely manner.
Maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and an essential function of your job. Must abide by all URUS policies and procedures relevant to this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide effective and positive sales contacts with current clients, responding to requests and provide problem solving.
Conduct regular sales calls for new prospects and opportunities, staying aligned with market trends and industry / client changes.
This position is accountable for obtaining division sales targets and goals.
- Conduct effective territory research to develop and maintain an active list of potential clients. Action is required to implement a sales strategy specific to each prospect for converting into value added clients.
- Initiate and maintain an effective industry networking process to be aware of sales opportunities and monitoring industry trends.
Provide timely updates of client and industry information to management and sales staff using Customer Relations Management (CRM).
Cooperate with VAS marketing department in developing and providing support to the laboratory marketing programs, such as industry tradeshows, direct mail marketing, E-Marketing efforts, and client surveys.
Effectively support programs to provide valued client support tools.
Be accountable for the recording and management of all communication, contact and follow up activities with customers, industry contacts and prospects with the use of Customer Relations Management (CRM) software.
This may include, but is not limited to :
- Proposal and pricing commitment documentation.
- Sales activities.
- Follow up task-management.
- Represent VAS in a courteous and professional manner with clients, industry, community, and university contacts
REQUIREMENTS
- 0 to 2+ years sales and / or marketing experience.
- 4-year degree or commensurate experience. A science background is desirable.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a sales environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven organizational and time management skills.
- Detail orientated nature with strong customer service focus.
- Strong computer skills, especially Excel and Word.
- Scheduling flexibility and ability to work overtime as needed based on workflow, deadlines and or special projects
