Data Analyst and PowerApps Intern

Position Summary

STERIS is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst / PowerApps Intern to join our Healthcare Customer Insights and Field Analytics team.

This internship presents an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in data analysis, data science, and programming, particularly within the Medical Technology / Medical Device industry.

Working with a team of experienced professionals, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and collaborate with various internal teams.

You will utilize STERIS operational data to provide intelligence to the Healthcare Commercial teams to make data-driven decisions, while developing valuable skills and expertise.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in data analysis, business intelligence, and data science.

Key Internship Information :

• Dates : start Fall 2024 semester; ideal candidate will extend into Spring and Summer 2025
• Hours : part-time (approx. 20 hours / week)
• Location : remote; opportunities for hybrid work out of Mentor, OH office

Duties

• Develop business solutions and assist the Healthcare Commercial team gain insights from data.
• Develop custom tools using PowerApps to enable business users to update business data not stored in enterprise applications.
• Develop reports and dashboards to present data in a logical and effective format.
• Complete ad-hoc data analysis to support the Healthcare Commercial team.
• Leverage adapted Agile processes through Azure DevOps (Sprints / Work Items / Repos)
• Validate the solutions developed adhere to quality standards.
• Participate in Business Intelligence best practices in collaboration with the IT Business Intelligence team.
• Participate in Data Science and Analytics Strategy roadmap implementation.
• All other duties as required.

Education + Skills

• In process of obtaining Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative major, such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, or other related fields.
• Experience with Cognos, Tableau, or other business intelligence tools is a plus.
• Experience with the Microsoft PowerApps to develop custom solutions.
• Experience conducting data analysis using Excel, Cognos. Tableau, or related software is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Demonstrate initiative, integrity, and results-oriented mindset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
