Kitchen Assistant - Psycho Donuts

SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE :

The Kitchen Assistant is responsible for ensuring that the kitchen that can operate efficiently and cleanly so patrons can enjoy safely prepared food.

Kitchen Assistants may also check inventories, track food wastage, and make sure the kitchen meets all health and safety requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
• Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
• Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity.
• Cook and package batches of food, which are prepared to order or kept warm until sold based on Psycho Donuts’ standards.
• Operate large-volume cooking equipment, such as deep-fat fryers.
• Read food order slips or receive verbal instructions as to food required by patron and prepare and cook food according to instructions.
• Measure ingredients required for specific food items being prepared.
• Clean, stock, and restock workstations and display cases.
• Cook the exact number of items ordered by each customer, working on several different orders simultaneously.
• Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
• Wash, cut, and prepare foods designated for cooking.
• Pre-cook items to prepare them for later use.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
• Ability to resolve issues in compliance with Psycho Donuts’ standards.
• Must have a friendly and courteous demeanour.
• Is a team player.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

• High school diploma preferred.
• Previous restaurant experience preferred.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
• The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, twist and turn body.
• Ability to traverse all parts of the store quickly.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
• This position does require the ability to perform under stressful conditions and high-volume demands.
