DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Prepare and file personal property tax returns, review real and personal property tax assessments for accuracy and reasonableness and set up property tax payments.
- Prepare accounting entries for property taxes and reconcile property tax accounts.
- Input fixed asset information into BNA fixed asset software and run BNA fixed asset reports needed for income tax and property tax purposes.
- Reconcile the BNA fixed asset tax information with the SAP fixed asset book information.
- Assist the Senior Tax Manager with tax notices, tax inquiries and tax audits.
- Assist the Senior Tax Manager with compliance filings related to incentive agreements, special projects and other filings as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- Ability to make accounting entries and perform account reconciliations
- A good understanding of property taxes and fixed asset capitalization and depreciation rules
- High attention to detail and accuracy and strong organizational, communication and time management skills
- Ability to clearly document work and prepare supporting workpapers
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience with SAP, BNA Fixed Asset software and BNA research software a plus
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
3 to 5 years’ minimum experience of fixed asset reporting preferred.
