Manages finance activities for a broad range of service lines and facilities within the Sanford Health enterprise. Facilitates organization-wide financial planning, budgeting, and process support for the full spectrum of services offered throughout Sanford Health.
Job Description
Produces thorough, accurate and timely budget, expense management, and variance reports for the healthcare organization. Provides effective financial forecasting, planning and control mechanisms for the healthcare organization.
Involved in candidate selection and onboarding, including scheduling training and integration into the team. Evaluates employee performance and supports continuous professional development for employees.
Provides leadership and support for financial services initiatives and projects; has ownership of project outcomes and ensures deadlines are met while providing guidance and support to staff on individual contributions to projects.
The Manager is a professional role and must demonstrate leadership abilities, including : the ability to make work assignments and adjust as needed, manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines, coaching employees and taking corrective action when needed, supporting employee development, and taking the initiative in own professional development.
Advanced understanding of accounting principles and standards is required. Able to demonstrate use of knowledge in making forecasts based on statistical analysis and provide accurate, complex analysis of financial data.
Ability to interpret complex financial and accounting data. Must be self-directed, autonomous and yet be able to work in an interdependent role.
Must have excellent critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills, and the ability to work with others across the organization at all levels.
Work must be well documented. Must be able to communicate with all levels of management and employees, both orally and in writing.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required in accounting, finance, business, healthcare administration, or related field; master's degree desired, but not required.
In lieu of Bachelor's degree, leadership may potentially consider minimum six years equivalent work experience.
Minimum of five years' experience in financial analysis or related accounting fields. Healthcare experience would be helpful.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or other professional certification is preferred, but not required.
