About this position

The talent management specialist is responsible for leading the planning, implementation, and management of various components of the organization’s talent management efforts, specifically for managerial staff.

The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively, work both independently and collaboratively within a small, close-knit team, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing career development activities for managerial staff, including event planning with internal and external facilitators, scheduling, venue preparation, attendee registration, guest speaker coordination, and tracking of event outcomes;
  • Working in tandem with the director of talent management to craft the strategy for employee onboarding, performance evaluation, and staff engagement;
  • Leading project planning and implementation of employee onboarding, performance evaluation, and staff engagement activities;
  • Developing and executing comprehensive onboarding programs to facilitate integration of new employees into the organization;
  • Collaborating with various departments to create onboarding materials, including training modules, welcome, and orientation sessions;
  • Designing and implementing initiatives to enhance overall staff engagement and satisfaction by collaborating with the director of talent management and other internal stakeholders to conduct regular surveys, focus groups, and feedback sessions to gather insights and identify opportunities for improvement;
  • Collaborating with teams to organize team-building activities, recognition programs, and events;
  • Managing the performance evaluation process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values;
  • Providing guidance to managers and employees on the performance management cycle, goal setting, and professional development plans;
  • Collaborating with the director of talent management to analyze performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement;
  • Accurately completing all assigned paperwork and documentation on a timely basis according to organization policies and procedures;
  • Actively participating in the annual in-service training;
  • Abiding by all of Options for Learning’s policies and procedures;
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

What you bring to the table

  • Associate degree in human resources management, business administration, or related field OR five years of demonstrated work history in a related field / business;
  • Two years of experience in a human resources role or office support role;
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of all aspects of human resources, including but not limited to talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, leaves of absence, benefits, compensation, learning, and development;
  • Ability to cultivate strong cross-functional relationships and communicate effectively with team members and program staff;
  • Ability to adapt in an ever-changing, fast-paced working environment;
  • Ability to multitask various assignments and projects;
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully balance multiple responsibilities;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Industry experience is a plus.

Job specifications

  • Reports to the director of talent management;
  • Non-exempt, full-time, twelve-month work year;
  • Eight-hour workday, four-day workweek;
  • Opportunity for hybrid work schedule to be determined by management;
  • Limited evening or weekend hours may be required;
  • Employment, responsibilities, compensation and other factors may be affected by changes in governmental regulations, the organization’s contracts, or at organization discretion.

  • $29.00 - $37.00 per hour
