About the role
The Director, A&R is responsible for sourcing potential new and catalog artists for signing based on criteria set by Nettwerk's A&R leadership.
In addition, this role works closely with senior team members to coordinate project needs including collaboration with other Nettwerk departments and external parties.
What you'll do
- Coordinate artist submissions for signing with senior A&R mentor / reporting manager.
- Manage signed projects from set up through release to ensure effective collaboration with the label team.
- Collaborate with senior A&R in day to day functions related to artists. (ie. writing sessions)
- Manage and build a network within the music industry.
- Attend relevant artist related meetings (Nettwerk departmental and outside parties)
- Sign and maintain an active roster with a minimum of fifteen projects.
Role Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working in A&R, management or publishing.
- Experience working directly with artists, producers, music lawyers and writers
- A 'rolodex' of contacts for outreach with managers, produces, writers
- Contacts and experience focused specifically within genres of pop, folk and singer songwriter. So, for example, if your only experience is within EDM, this would disqualify you.
- Strong understanding of record label contract processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Keen sensibility and connection to artist community
- A propensity to be "in the mix" at industry events and artist shows

The pay range for this role is :
80,000 - 100,000 USD per year (Los Angeles)
