Director, Engineering

Dynata is looking for a highly experienced dynamic leader to develop and execute our strategies to enhance our customer experience across a broad spectrum of e-commerce.

The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of expertise in web development, e-commerce, people leadership and promoting a digital strategy to drive our brand to increased success.

Your role will involve evaluating and selecting appropriate technologies, designing high-level frameworks, and providing technical guidance to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Your profound understanding of software, applications, technical processes, and product management will be instrumental in steering multiple complex projects and initiatives.
• As the primary decision-maker for your teams, you will foster innovation and ensure efficient solution delivery.
• Oversees decisions that influence resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures.
• Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership and maintainability.
• Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains.
• Champions Dynata's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
• Deliver solutions leveraging modern technologies utilizing modern design patterns.
• Triage technical issues and lead teams toward solving problems.
• Mentor team members to progress their technical and professional skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of experience in technical leadership roles with increasing responsibility.
• 10+ years of experience with modern coding languages or frameworks with preferred familiarity of React, Angular, C and Java.
• Strong understanding of architectural principles and best practices specifically in cloud computing services including microservices architectures, serverless computing and event-driven distributed systems.
• Experience with a variety of technologies and frameworks including J2EE, Web Services, XML, SOAP, XSL, HTML / DHTML, and HTTP.
• Knowledge of relational database design, OLAP, and NoSQL models is required (SQL, MDX, etc.).
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience with cloud computing and distributed systems, preferably AWS.
• Knowledge of security and compliance standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong focus on quality, performance, and security.
• Experience with agile and iterative development methodologies.
• Ability to stay current with industry trends and advancements.

The salary range for this position in is $130-$170 K USD / yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

A discretionary incentive program may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and other benefits, dependent on full-time employment status.
