Civil Science is currently seeking a qualified Water / Wastewater Engineer to join one of our Utah offices. In this role, you will design, develop, and oversee projects related to water supply and wastewater treatment systems.
You will work on a variety of projects, including simple and complex water systems, treatment plants, wastewater facilities, distribution networks, transmission pipelines, and storage facilities.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise and a commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable infrastructure solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design water and wastewater systems, including pipelines, pump stations, collection systems, transmission lines and distribution networks.
- Develop detailed engineering plans, specifications, and drawings.
- Assist in the planning, scheduling, and management of water / wastewater projects. Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Perform technical analyses, including hydraulic modeling, process simulations, and environmental assessments. Evaluate system performance and recommend improvements or upgrades.
- Ensure that designs and projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Stay informed about changes in regulations and industry standards.
- Prepare and present project proposals, reports, and technical documents.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in water / wastewater engineering or related fields. Experience in the design and construction of water / wastewater systems is highly desirable.
- Strong technical knowledge in hydraulics with experience in water rights, source capacity, storage, collection, treatment, distribution, and transmission.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools such as AutoCAD, GIS and other water related software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry standards.
