Data Intelligence Developer

The Data Intelligence Developer will be responsible for driving the evolution of TowneBank’s centralized reporting function.

They should be proficient in Power BI and help to drive the most efficient technical usage of Power BI along with consistent visualization.

Putting together a common Power BI style guide that makes it easy and consistent for the business to consume data and perform analytics is a key deliverable.

This person should be comfortable working at all levels of the organization from senior management to report writers to drive solutions that WOW our internal stakeholders.

Broader responsibilities include challenging the status quo, mentoring and training the more junior resources, and exploring innovative solutions that would increase the trust and quality of the data.

Essential Responsibilities :

• Foster strategic relationships with key organizational stakeholders, understand their data needs and align reporting and analytical needs accordingly.
• Conduct assessments of current report usage across like roles and find efficiencies where possible
• Promote use of industry leading trends and new data management technologies. Be obsessed with improving the business data capabilities and business performance.
• Act as a role-model for what great looks like .
• Actively lead / participate in evaluation of new data sources, acquisition of data, and delivery of data
• Data Insights, including driving data cleansing, systematic optimization of data flow, optimization of data consumption, building out reporting and dashboard and creating and maintaining tools for data consumption.
• Provide thought leadership in proper implementation of processes and tools that best align with the organization’s strategic objectives.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to present fact-based recommendations in a clear, logical, and concise way : "tell a story with data.
• Work collaboratively across Business Lines / Functions to define, sequence, and execute data roadmaps.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives to completion under concurrent, rigorous, and regulatory deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
• Overall understanding of all commercial data to address organization and user needs that help gain insight and direction.
• Adheres to applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations including those related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Skills & Competencies :

• years of data analytics and reporting experience.
• Demonstrated ability to develop / build complex Semantic Models in Power BI.
• Knowledge of automation, ETL / ELT, virtual tables, DAX, Power Query M, and other key concepts.
• Cloud background and understanding basic cloud architecture concepts.
• Financial Services background with - years of working knowledge of core banking systems.
• Strong management abilities and the ability to recognize and foster other management personnel.
• Demonstrated strong leadership qualities.
• Excellent communication and sales skills.
• Strong decision-making abilities.
• High degree of personal integrity.

Desired Skills & Competencies :

• Experience with the Banking Industry (preferably working at an FI)
• Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Experience and expertise in developing and executing data strategies.

• Advanced degree or Industry designations.
