A day in the life.

As our Insurance Intern , you’ll :

  • Assist with timely and quality handling of new business, renewal business, and customer service needs.
  • Analyze and research service, coverage, and industry related topics.
  • Shadow assigned service staff & sales members & meet with leadership.
  • Collaborate with fellow summer interns to complete projects.
  • Maintain professional ethics according to insurance standards, MMA standards and licensing laws in the State of Nebraska.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.

Learn to apply the concepts you’ve learned in the classroom through project work and client interaction. You’ll also develop professional skills that will serve you the rest of your career.

MMA’s goal is to provide insight into all areas of the insurance industry and act as a springboard into full-time careers in the role you desire.

Our internship will focus on the tools needed to build a solid foundation for our Client Management or Sales career pathways.

We’d love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills :

High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Ideal candidate will have completed two (2) semesters of college course work studying in an area of business.

Some insurance, risk management or finance courses preferred but not required.

  • Cumulative GPA 3.0 minimum
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to coworkers and group insurance representatives.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of tools.
