POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing Director is responsible for managing the external day-to-day marketing and communications activities of Solid Light.
This role oversees public relations, social media, advertising, and thought leadership initiatives, ensuring consistent messaging and engagement with audiences while supporting Solid Light's market development objectives.
The Marketing Director will identify and direct market expansion opportunities and continuous improvement of external outreach methods driven by data evaluation, while supporting the Engagement Director on internal engagement initiatives.
Reporting directly to the Director of Market Development, this position requires a detail-oriented, creative individual with strong established marketing and communication skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility and engagement.
- Manage all external marketing communications, including public relations, website, and social media channels.
- Oversee advertising campaigns and promotional efforts to support market reach.
- Create and manage content for thought leadership and other publishing opportunities.
- Analyze marketing performance through monthly data metrics reports to optimize outreach efforts.
- Support media and other company positioning initiatives led by the Director of Market Development, including writing and distributing press releases, identifying public and / or industry-specific interview opportunities, and drafting talking points and presentations for staff as needed.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of Solid Light's marketing efforts through data-driven metrics.
- Collaborates with the Engagement Director to ensure brand messaging is consistent and aligns with the company's creative vision across all internal and external communications and documents.
- Collaborates with the Engagement Director to ensure marketing and project strategies are incorporated into RFP responses and proposals.
- Support the Director of Market Development with market expansion efforts.
- Manage annual holiday card mailing and end-of-year client gifts.
- Stay updated on industry trends to inform marketing strategies.
- Helps promote Solid Light and its market offer, clients, and team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in a related subject or equivalent work experience and training.
- Minimum of five (5) years in marketing and client services.
- Proficient understanding of computer applications which would include but not limited to Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, Marketing and Sales software.
- Experience in developing and implementing social media campaigns, websites, and public relations.
- Comfortable in front of large groups of people and able to present complex processes to an audience unfamiliar with those processes.
- The ability to lead a team of people toward a common goal.

- Must be capable of handling deadlines and short timelines to meet client or potential client requirements.
- Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 25 pounds.
- Must be capable of domestic travel utilizing both automobile and airplane.
