Overview
Under general direction, the purpose of this position is to assist the area by ensuring the proper equipment, tools, vehicles, building equipment and / or materials arrive at the job site or craft shop so that applicable work can start on time.
This is a critical job in the Operations and Facilities areas.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responds to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous and empathetic manner representing OCPS in a positive light.
Responsible for area materials inventory.
Makes arrangements for emergency materials purchasing.
Checks residual stock, bench stock, and other warehouses prior to requisitioning additional materials.
Receives materials at the warehouse as it is delivered from vendors.
Issues materials to work orders or craft shops.
Maintains all appropriate records, data, documentation, and paperwork.
Makes inventory adjustments and transfers as necessary.
Inspects materials for defects and shortages prior to receiving it from the vendor.
Tracks the status of building materials on a Bill of Material (BOM).
Creates a turn-in transaction for unused building materials.
Records consumption trends.
Requisitions items for the warehouse, which have fallen below the reorder point.
May be required to develop and schedule routes.
Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attends training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
Responsible for timely and accurate information they maintain as part of their job responsibilities.
Performs other relevant duties and responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
While the following tasks are necessary for the work of the unit, they are not an essential part of the purpose of this position and may also be performed by other unit members.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or GED is required. An associate’s degree in construction management, facility management, logistics, material acquisition, material workflow management, or related field from an accredited institution is desirable.
At least three (3) years of experience in a warehouse environment or purchasing department. Knowledge of accepted industry-wide material acquisition and purchase practices.
Ability to accurately understand purchase orders, invoices, shipping documents, and other associated documents. Ability to use a computer and a variety of common software packages.
Ability to operate a forklift and maintain a forklift certification. Ability to work with numbers and perform numerous calculations.
Knowledge of standard industry-wide warehouse and receiving practices. Ability to maintain accurate records. Strong organizational skills.
Ability to perform physical inventories and inspections of materials for defects. Strong interpersonal skills. Knowledge of which items belong in bench stock, shop stock and residual.
Must maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.

ADA COMPLIANCE
Physical Ability : Tasks involve mildly heavy physical effort involving regular and at times some combination of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling or prolonged standing.
May require sustained lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling 12 to 20 pounds of weight and occasionally 20 to 50 pounds of weight.
Sensory Requirements : Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds and depths.
Some tasks require oral communications ability. Most tasks require visual perception and discrimination.
Environmental Factors : Tasks are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, animals / wildlife, toxic / poisonous agents, violence, disease, or pathogenic substances.
