- Qualifications and / or experience relating to childhood development and teaching.
- Strong organizational skills.
- A proactive approach to supporting others.
- Ability to communicate warmly and effectively with children, families and colleagues.
- Special affinity for toddler age group.
General Duties :
The general duties shall include, but are not limited to the following :
- Participates in the preparation of a stimulating and culturally rich environment according to the true spirit of Montessori principles.
- Greets and interacts with all students, parents, and co-workers in a welcoming and positive manner.
- Maintains a classroom environment that is clean, safe, and nurturing for children.
- Assists with the emotional and physical care and well being of the children in the classroom, and on the playground.
- Manages classroom activities and behavior.
- Interacts with children in a professional, positive, and safe manner.
- Assists in the making of materials, creation of lessons, and planning of activities.
- Presents lessons and leads activities with individual students or groups of students.
- Assists in morning check in, afternoon pick up, attendance recording, and end of the day classroom clean up.
- Conducts parent conferences and meetings, staff meetings, P.I.R days and fundraising events in a warm and professional manner.
- Remains confidential at all times.
- Performs other duties as requested by the Head of School.
