POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
The Strategic HR & Benefits Manager will play a critical role in ensuring that Moss’s HR practices are aligned with the company's principles and best practices while also managing and optimizing the company's compensation and benefits programs.
This role requires a strategic leader who can influence cross-functional teams, mentor HR staff, and drive initiatives that enhance both operational efficiency and employee satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
People Stewardship Management :
Develop and deliver people-centric programs, policies, and projects, fostering a collaborative cross-functional approach
Partner with Moss’s Legal team to identify and address any stewardship gaps, ensuring all follow-ups are completed effectively
Monitor, track, and communicate regulatory changes that may impact operational practices, working with stakeholders to assess risks and implement necessary adjustments
Conduct periodic audits to evaluate the effectiveness of HR initiatives in meeting stewardship standards
Oversee compliance with required workplace postings and labor classifications, ensuring all necessary reports are submitted on time
Administer all required regulatory leaves of absence in collaboration with the broader HR team and business leaders, and in alignment with Company policy
Manage immigration programs, partnering with external counsel to ensure all employees have legal work authorization
Benefits Management :
Design, implement, and maintain a market-competitive, comprehensive health and welfare strategy
Cultivate trusted relationships with HR and business leaders, serving as subject matter expert for all benefits-related projects and requirements
Implement and maintain both short- and long-term strategic programs to support organizational growth
Partner with external benefit broker and carriers to maintain a high-value, competitive benefits offering for current and future employees
Identify new and manage current vendor relationships with benefits providers
Ensure creative use of rewards, benefits, and recognition programs to attract and retain talent
Provide guidance on policy and guidelines interpretation specific to benefits-related programs
Understand and support the company’s compensation processes, providing assistance when team members have questions
Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field preferred. Master’s Degree strongly preferred
At least 5+ years of combined experience in people stewardship and benefits management
Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization
Proficiency in HRIS systems; Workday experience preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of legislation governing benefit plans (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, PPACA)
Demonstrated leadership experience with managing teams and strategic initiative execution
