The Clerical Assistant supports multiple attorneys in a busy law office and will be responsible pri marily for assisting the Attorneys and Legal Assistants.
The Clerical Assistant acts as the recep tionist for the office and will be expected to communicate with the attorneys, their clients, busi ness partners, courts and opposing counsel in litigation matters;

RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Utilize and maintain office equipment, manage electronic files and work with large volumes of documents, make copies upon request and other duties as assigned;
- Sort, open, stamp and deliver mail and faxes to and from workstations and the mail receiving area, process outgoing mail using appropriate equipment and maintain the postage machine;
- Preparation and assembly of document packages; including the scanning of evidence;
- Assist with overflow work as needed in addition to locating, pulling and distributing file materials and information as well as maintaining office files, maintaining the master calendar and to make copies upon request;
- Calendaring of court appearances and related events; and will be expected to ensure that form letters and templates are used correctly as needed;
- The Clerical Assistant will be expected to communicate effectively with attorney requests from all offices;
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically, Outlook, Word, and Excel;
- Effectively manage multiple projects, use time management skills and independent judgment in a high- volume environment;
- Demonstrated efficiency, productivity and attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ac curacy;
- Basic knowledge of legal terminology is required. Calendar management experience is a plus;
- Ability to work on strict and short deadlines; able to set priorities and deal effectively with shift ing priorities;
Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information and use diplomacy in written and ver bal communication with internal and external clients.
This position is located in our Lake Mary, FL Staff Legal Office.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role.
The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
The annualized base pay range for this role is :
$40,685 - $61,027
