Description of Work
As part of the Research Project Management Office (PMO) within the Office of Research and Economic Development (ORED), the Research Portfolio Team will champion and drive research and economic development at UNL by providing robust and comprehensive grants facilitation services for Principal Investigators (PI) seeking externally funded sponsored projects.
The PMO enables coordination and oversight of proposal submissions and non-financial services, in support of research-driven initiatives.
The Research Portfolio Team comprises customer-facing consultative members who provide a process-driven approach, operating procedures, and supporting systems to lead successful projects throughout the project lifecycle.
The Research Portfolio Coordinator (RPC) : Working alongside a RPM, the PI, and the applicable business center staff; is responsible for the coordination, revision, and submission of proposals for their assigned unit(s).
The RPC is a member of a faculty support team that provides the best possible customer service to the PI in support of their research activities.
Providing guidance on budget development and effective utilization of research resources for all proposals. Deliver non-financial post-award services such as create / review requests for programmatic changes and determine necessary actions, communicate with applicable ORED and academic units as needed, and conduct project closures.
Provide specialized guidance to PI and staff in gaining knowledge of, acquiring, and finalizing external proposals.

Provide mentoring and training for level I RPMs. Also provide oversight and training for departmental-level professional and support staff assigned to grant activities.
