Job Title : Distillation Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Distillation Operator to join our team. You will be responsible for operating distillation and reaction process equipment, managing inventory through paperwork transfers, and performing various tasks related to the distillation process.
This role is perfect for someone with strong experience in chemistry, mechanical aptitude, and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities
- Run distillation and reaction process equipment.
- Manage inventory through paperwork transfers.
- Charge stills and perform process plumbing lineups with hoses, hard lines, and fittings to and from tanks.
- Sample and label distillation cuts, and run Gas Chromatography analysis on cuts and in-process samples.
- Make run condition changes and decisions based on analysis.
- Adhere to GMP, HACCP, and Food Safety Standards.
Essential Skills
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Experience with Gas Chromatography (GC) testing.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Forklift operation skills.
- Experience in compounding, blending, brewing, and food and beverage industries.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- GED or high school diploma required.
- Experience in chemical processing and automated control systems is a plus.
- Must complete a math assessment before consideration.
Work Environment
You will work in a fragrance / flavors manufacturing facility located in Florida. The job involves 50% outdoor work and 50% in an air-conditioned office.
The position requires working an overnight shift from 5pm to 5am, on a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule. The initial evaluation period and training will be conducted on a Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm schedule.
The permanent position will be night shift. The team is laid back and friendly, and it is important to be a team player as high-maintenance attitudes are not well received.
