Duties :
- Provides counsel and advice to top management on significant Infrastructure matters, often requiring coordination between organizations.
- Serves as the lead technical consultant responsible for the design, engineering, and development of information technology solutions.
- Leads the design, analysis, development, and implementation of engineering infrastructure solutions of projects and / or work requests for complex business solutions.
- Troubleshoots and resolves complex infrastructure compatibility issues based on system architecture, project requirements, customer expectations, etc.
- May be involved in the creation of design specifications and the development and application of utility programs and may resolve escalated infrastructure compatibility problems as they arise.
- Responsibilities may include risk assessments, partnering on capacity planning, budget forecasting, and diagnosing and correcting application / network problems.
May serve as the primary contact for vendors.
- Technologies span mainframe, midrange, desktop, server, network data, voice, messaging, web, database, and output / receiving.
- Focuses on providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines. It is recognized internally as the go-to person for the most complex Infrastructure Engineering assignments.
Required :
- This position requires a strong ITOM / CMDB development background as they will lead a team of developers (on and offshore) in areas of design, development, documentation, testing, and modification of existing and new ITOM & CMDB capabilities, discovery patterns, and sensors, championing standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- They will participate in architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation, and buy versus build decisions.
- They will supervise and communicate the development project status, dependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies to the project team and leadership.
- Daily interaction with ServiceNow and ITOM configuration management database (CMDB) services in an enterprise product environment.
- Helps maintain the governance, policies, and direction of the CMDB.
- Assists in leading the CMDB discovery, CI relationship vision, and roadmap.
- Maintains the integrity of the CMDB and Discovery processes.
- Responsible for maintaining the Discovery application tool within ServiceNow.
- Identify improvements with internal consumers of data whose processes interact with the CMDB.
