Lucidant Polymers is looking for a Chemist (Manufacturing and Research) to boost our small team in a growing lab
Sunnyvale, CA.
Job Responsibilities :
- Doing chemistry on a team : organic polymerization, purification, separations, and more.
- Communication (with Production, Quality Assurance, Sales, Purchasing, and Facilities).
- Receiving lab materials + Inventory control
- Quality Control : HPLC, FTIR, C13-NMR, density testing, melting point, electrophoresis
- Document : Lucidant is an ISO9001 : 2015 lab. Our Quality Management System (QMS) is paramount.
- Be onsite in Sunnyvale, CA standard working hours, with room for flexibility.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree in STEM (especially chemistry, physics or biology) or equivalent work experience
- 0-6 years work experience in Production, Manufacturing, Sample Prep or Process Development.
- A basic understanding of organic chemistry, reactions, pressure and temperature, and pH
- Working knowledge of lab safety and PPE (from internships, other work experience, or a lab class)
- Willingness to learn, a strong work ethic, a curious mind, and a coachable mindset
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. for short periods of time
- Ability to carefully handle solvents and reagents using good technique and safety protocols
