The Village of Orland Park Special Recreation Division is currently seeking a mature, outgoing, positive, well-rounded individual to fill the role of Recreation Instructor Specialist, to oversee the coordination of the Rhodes to Independence Adult Day Program.

Key Responsibilities
This important role will develop, plan, implement, assist and evaluate the Rhodes to Independence Adult Day Program on a routine basis.
The Recreation Instructor Specialist will assist with the coordination of staffing assignments and duties as well as assist with direct, daily oversight of program participants.
The Recreation Instructor Specialist will attend adult day program committee meetings through the IPRA therapeutic recreation section as well as assist the Senior Program Coordinator in the planning of all transportation needs for the program including route schedules, assignments and travel plans.
This candidate will coordinate availability of fleet vehicles to meet program needs and complete program supplies inventory, and order new items as needed.
This role regularly communicates with parents / guardians and program participants to answer questions, provide information and address issues / concerns.
In addition, this role is responsible for preparing and assisting with all program budget needs. This candidate must also assist with the adult day section of the seasonal Recreation and Parks program brochure and assist with division and department wide special events and fundraisers.
Regular and consistent attendance is required for this position. This position requires day time availability on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with office planning time.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
High School Diploma and valid driver's license is required. Associates or Bachelor's degree in the recreation or education field is preferred.
A minimum of one to three years related administrative experience is required.
Strong oral and written communication skills, a great attitude, superb organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must.
Up to 19 hours per week. Mainly daytime shifts, but some evening and Saturday availability will be necessary. Schedules will be made ahead of time when convenient.
