LHH is seeking a DATA SPECIALIST (OIL & GAS) for a long-term contract position in Houston, TX.

Pay Range : $25-28 / hr DOE
Work Schedule : M-F, 7-4, 7 : 30-4 : 30, or 8-5
SUMMARY :
O&G data analyst will process and prepare chemical tracer data into final client deliverables.
DUTIES : Chemical Data :
Chemical Data :
Enter, update, and correct chemical tracer injection and sampling data in a MS Access front-end. Any MS Access exp preferred. Not required.
Validate field-provided data prior to entry.
Generate, format, and edit Excel-based reports.
Use and perform basic troubleshooting on existing VBA code for process automation. This is the ability to read and understand error messages from Excel.
Validate data patterns, take corrective actions, or seek input for suspicious data. O&G experience needed to be able to recognize these patterns.
Generate additional advanced deliverables from the chemical data using Excel macros, plotting software, and other tools.
Other :
Interact professionally with a wide range of internal personnel (sales, technical, field, lab).
Availability for rotating on-call scheduled nights / weekend / holidays is required. Only as needed during storms!
QUALIFICATIONS :
2- or 4- year degree in a Petroleum-related field preferred but not required
SKILLS :
Advanced proficiency in Excel, ideally including using and troubleshooting VBA macros required.
Familiarity with Microsoft Access front ends and working directly in tables preferred.
EXPERIENCE :
O&G experience required.
