Objective : With direction / instructions from Plant Supervisor, a Yard Driver is required to, but not limited to, safely operate yard truck, rolloff truck, and forklifts (to load / unload trailers, vans, flatbed trailers).
Operate in a safe and professional manor according to guild lines put forth by Smurfit Westrock policy.
Duties :
- Follow all safety rules.
- Move trailers between storage area and dock for loading and unloading.
- Utilize truck scale, work with weighmaster and forklift operator to ensure compliant outbound weight.
- Work with forklift operator to follow all dock safety procedures.
- Coordinate trailer moves with bale schedule.
- Perform daily PM inspections.
- Maintain equipment.
- Maintain accurate records and logs.
- Learn recycling grades.
- Support baler operator in keeping warehouse clean.
- Maintain cleanliness of dock and alley area.
- Move roll-offs as needed.
- Other duties as assigned. Requirements :

- Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
- Knowledge of recycling or waste industry a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Rotate cranking lever, raising or lower trailer landing gear 2 or more times per shift.
- Climb in and out of the cab of the truck 5 or more times per shift.
- Work outside in all weather conditions.
