Job Summary
Exercises general supervision over business office staff directing all areas of credit and collections of the Surgery Center.
Plans, organizes and directs all aspects of the Business Office including the administration of all policies on accounting, insurance, internal controls, accounts payable, auditing of patient accounts, scheduling, admissions, medical records, and claims processing.
Job Responsibilities
- Directly supervises Scheduling, Registration, Insurance Verification, Accounts Receivable and Medical Records personnel.
- Supervises and coordinates the reimbursements of patient accounts through claims processing and POS collections.
- Leads and facilitates credit and collection policies. Identify and implement areas of improvement for collection of delinquent accounts.
- Reviews billing and collection patterns in collaboration with CBO.
- Gathers and analyzes information. Develops new procedures to improve the quality and quantity of work processed.
- Interprets and enforces third party payer rules and regulations, including Medicare requirements.

Required Skills
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related business experience.
- Three years of management experience including three years in a health care organization.
- Additional appropriate education may be substituted for two years of fiscal management experience.
- Thorough understanding of the insurance industry.
- Knowledge of governmental regulations.
- Maintains a high level of proficiency in computer applications.
- Skills in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives.
- Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, staff, and the general public.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of management regarding fiscal policies.
