Mortgage Loan Collector
A Mortgage Loan Collector assists Mortgage clients; processes a variety of clerical duties; collects overdue payments for mortgage loans from customers as well assistance with the bankruptcy division.
What You Will Be Doing
- Attempting to reach delinquent mortgage holders by telephone at residence, place of employment or any other telephone numbers available to establish when payment is to be received
- Escalating attempts to reach delinquent mortgage holders after the loan is 30, 60 or 90 days past due by telephone, face-to-face meetings, notices, special letters, etc.
- Ordering property inspections on loans when the customer is still unreachable at 45 days of delinquency
- Reviewing property inspections to determine appropriate action to take regarding established guidelines
- Sending letters and notices to delinquent mortgage holders according to established procedures
- Offering and establishing appropriate foreclosure or repayment plans when needed, providing necessary documentation and back-up paperwork to collection manager for explanation and approval
- Recommending uncollectible loans for foreclosure and preparing foreclosure package
- Handling processing of payments, payment posting, posting errors, bad checks, etc. as the need arises
- Handling return payments in accordance with HUD, VA and FNMA, as well as bank policies and guidelines
- Using skip tracing techniques as appropriate when trying to locate mortgagor
- Backup Bankruptcy File set up
- Backup Credit Disputes on E-Oscar
- Handles escalated calls when needed
- Backup Investor Reporting FHA & FNMA
- Assist collectors with repayment plans as needed
- Serves as a back-up for Collector Assistant & assist escrow department during yearly payment changes.
What Do You Need for this Position?
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
- A minimum of two years' related experience and / or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word required
