Job Summary

This role is a part of the UC Davis Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) located within the department of neurology.

The primary function of this position is to assist in the data processing requirements of various initiatives such as Diverse VCID and the ADC Longitudinal Cohort.

It also supports the Data Core requirements of the center's primary sponsors, the National Institute on Aging and the National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center.

Minimum Qualifications

For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license, certification and / or educational degree if required of the position

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Proficiency in Data Management Software : In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with data management software such as REDCap and SQL is paramount, as these tools are central to managing data capture and storage.
  • Knowledge of Python Applications : Familiarity with Python and the ability to use it for creating recurring financial reports is crucial to assist in performing key data extraction and report generation tasks.
  • Knowledge Proficiency in ensuring data quality and understanding quality guidelines is necessary to ensure the integrity and consistency of data.
  • Strong communication skills are important for effective collaboration with external site staff, the Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC), and within the data team.
  • The ability to solve new problems and identify patterns are crucial skills to help collaborators understand and resolve data conflicts and alerts generated by the NACC system or other databases.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Financial or Mathematical Acumen :
  • While not the primary focus, a working understanding of financial reports can be beneficial for assisting in the generation of financial reports and understanding of financial data.
  • Comprehensive understanding of NACC UDS data forms for Alzheimer's Disease assessment or other psychometry assessments is required to understand feedback generated by our sponsors.
  • Basic understanding and proficiency in administrative tasks will be essential, particularly when dealing with physical record management in the UCDH warehouse.
  • Having a basic understanding of clinical labs, questionnaires, and other procedural data requests can assist in handling the responsibilities associated with the role.

The UC Davis ADRC, one of 37 national Alzheimer's Disease research centers, possesses a Data Management Core where this position resides.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing electronic data capture tools, generating administrative and financial reports, and facilitating communication between us and external sites.
