Job Title : Cardiac Sonographer Echo Lab
Location : College Station, TX
Shift : 8-Hour Day Shifts (7 : 00 AM - 3 : 00 PM), 5 shifts per week, 40 hours per week. On-call schedule required.
Salary Range : $27 - $37 per hour (based on experience)
Sign-On Bonus : $10,000 sign-on bonus plus relocation assistance available.
Job Overview :
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cardiac Sonographer to join our Echo Lab team. As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will perform a wide variety of cardiac ultrasound procedures, including both inpatient and outpatient transthoracic studies.
You will work closely with cardiologists and other medical professionals to deliver accurate, high-quality diagnostic results that assist in patient care decisions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare patients for procedures and obtain relevant clinical history to tailor imaging techniques for accurate and comprehensive echocardiograms.
- Perform basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures, including adult, pediatric, and neonatal studies, stress echoes, strain imaging, and use of ultrasound enhancement agents (contrast).
- Assist physicians with complex procedures such as TAVR, PFO closure, LAAO, and TEEs.
- Process and sterilize high-level disinfection probes.
- Maintain equipment and record statistics, reporting any malfunctions or issues promptly.
- Act as a resource for staff, physicians, and students by sharing expertise on equipment, techniques, and procedures.
- Work with the quality coordinator to ensure adherence to protocols and support ICAEL accreditation activities.
- Implement new protocols as technology evolves and ensure adherence to system echocardiography standards.
Qualifications :
- Graduate of an accredited program or 2 years of work experience beyond the minimum qualification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Must hold one of the following certifications :
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI, or
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, sonographic principles, and infection control procedures.
- Ability to explain procedures to patients and answer questions in a clear, compassionate manner.
- Proficient in medical terminology and skilled in using medical equipment and computers.
