The Director of Credit Strategy plays a crucial role in managing the credit decisions and associated risks with credit policies and regulations.
This role is responsible to lead in the risk management strategies supporting the organizations risk appetite as well as optimizing pricing, acquisition targets, yield returns, champion challenger testing, credit analytics and the data characteristics that support the growth objectives and goals of the Company.
Requirements
1. Credit Decision Making : As the Director of Credit Strategies, authority is delegated to you from executive leadership to develop, manage, and maintain the Company's Credit Policy, and chair the Credit Committee.
2. Policy and Procedural Management : Collaborate with executive leadership teams to recommend changes to policy based on empirically derived performance and trends to manage risk within the risk appetite of the Company.
3. Reporting and Analysis : Create reporting packages for monthly credit committee meetings, monitor performance through analytics, recommend adjustments to align with the Company's risk appetite.
Highlight areas of concerns, create dashboards, work with partner risk teams to support or substantiate changes recommended by the Company in any partnership programs.
4. Industry Awareness : Stay informed, abreast, and educated about industry trends related to consumer lending performance, marketplace lending risks, capital markets, structured finance, and merchant point of sale acquisition strategies.
5. Risk Management : Oversee the trends of portfolios held under assets management arrangements and ensure covenants are within prescribed thresholds.
Adjust acquisition or account management strategies to ensure targets can be appropriately maintained.
6. Credit Review Validations : Coordinate the review of credit relationships or, merchant programs at onboarding and annually, to validate risk ratings are maintained within prescribed thresholds, documentation adequacy, and validation of merchant or partner obligations can continually be met to meet any obligations to the Company.
7. QA and Champion / Challenger Tenants : Develop QA program to ensure application, approvals, conversions, and funding is appropriate as expected based on forecasts and budgets.
Develop champion / challenger strategies that will continually evolve the credit strategies of the Company.
8. Staff Development : Assist in developing experienced credit review with staff, including coordinating credit policy training with the senior compliance manager.
- Background : Five plus years in a Credit Strategy or, Risk Management role. People leader and, Credit Committee or Model Risk Management experience preferred
- Education : Bachelor of Science, Business Administration, Economics, or Statistics, MBA preferred
Certifications : SAS, CFA, FRM, CBF, or, CBA preferred
