Responsibilities
Medical Records Specialist
Palmetto Summerville Behavioral Health is a residential treatment facility, located in Summerville, South Carolina. We treat children and adolescents, ages 7 to , who require a highly structured and supervised therapeutic environment.
Residents attend programming separately, and are assigned to a group based on functioning level and treatment needs.
Job Summary
Provides oversight, support, and assistance in the management of the patient record to meet all regulatory compliance. Sorts residents' clinical / medical information alphabetically, chronologically and by unit.
Maintains, updates and files information in clinical records. Prepares, assembles and analyze admitted / discharged residents records.
Retrieve records for patient care, quality review and audits in a timely manner. Coordinate the release of medical information to insurance companies, healthcare facilities, attorneys, state and federal agencies.

Qualifications
Job Requirements :
- High School Diploma or Degree in Social Sciences.
- CPR and CPI Certification Required.
- Knowledge of Health Information Management and Medical Terminology
