About the Role

As the county continues to grow, we seek a Human Resources Director who will serve as a strategic partner in building an inclusive, efficient, and engaged workforce to support our vision for the future.

The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader who is passionate about people, committed to building a culture of excellence, and skilled at leading transformative HR strategies and will be responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of human resource functions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the County’s mission, and objectives driving transformative initiatives for a high-performance culture
  • Oversee all HR functions, including pay plans, recruitment and retention, labor relations, benefits administration, employee development, and performance management
  • Champion and lead efforts to foster an inclusive, diverse, and supportive work environment
  • Prepare annual departmental budget; initiate and approve expenditures and ensure fiscal responsibility
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the County Administrator, elected officials, and department heads on personnel policies and workforce management issues
  • Oversee risk management, workers’ compensation, and employee safety programs
  • Develop and administer effective training and professional development programs
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations

About You :

  • Progressively responsible experience in human resources management, including supervisory experience. Experience in the government or public sector is preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of labor relations, employee benefits, compensation strategies, and employment law
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing organizational development and training programs
  • Demonstrated experience in leading diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to transparency, integrity, and public service
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required
  • Professional HR certification is highly desirable
