Job Title : Youth Ministry Coordinator, Part-time
Reports to : Pastor
Location : St. Cecilia Parish Fort Myers, FL
Classification : Salaried / Exempt
Overview
St. Cecilia Catholic Community is looking for a dynamic individual to work with the Faith Formation Coordinator of to plan, direct, and implement ministry for grades 6 - 12.
The Youth Minister Coordinator would be responsible for fostering a vibrant spiritual life in the youth of our parish through social and service opportunities as well as assisting with catechesis and sacramental prep as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Recruit and manage teen volunteers for parish events, including but not limited to Summer Bible Camp, All Saints Festival, Advent Event, Parish Picnic, and Easter Egg Hunt.
- Organize and implement several fundraising campaigns throughout the year.
- Plan, schedule, and implement social activities for youth to interact and bond as a faith community.
- Schedule, organize, and facilitate monthly Youth Mass.
- Assist with planning, organizing, and presenting retreats.
- Data entry and record keeping of youth, volunteers, service hours, and Safe Environment Training.
- Provide weekly catechesis and possibly monthly sacramental prep.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Must be a practicing Catholic
- Abilities must include : Church teaching; lead public prayer; interpersonal skills; public speaking; recruitment techniques;
- organizational, management, and administrative skills; creativity in program design and development; facilitation skills;
- knowledge of referral programs; energy, enthusiasm, and commitment; contemporary Catholic / Christian music; maintain A / V equipment;
computer skills, including word processing; teaching techniques for adolescents.
- Individual will obtain DOV Youth Minister basic certification if not already certified.
- Must pass Level II Background screening
