Director of Renewable Energy Engineering

About the Position

Pond is currently seeking an experienced Director of Renewable Energy Engineering to join our growing team of Energy Professionals.

The ideal candidate possesses 10+ years of related experience and wants to grow, collaborate, and innovate. In this position, the successful candidate will utilize knowledge in the renewable energy industry to support clients in assessment and design of renewable energy solutions for clients across the United States.

Projects will span across multiple markets and geographies affording opportunities for broadening knowledge and deepening skill sets related to design projects.

We are seeking someone who can be an independent self-starter.

Job Responsibilities :

• Perform a broad range of studies and other services to help clients make renewable energy decisions through engineering analysis, technical studies
• Oversee multidisciplinary engineering tasks for photovoltaic, battery storage or renewable natural gas facility designs, including civil, electrical (high and medium voltage), battery storage, and structural engineering for assigned projects.

Work with project managers to lead the technical execution for projects.

• Support development, design and preconstruction aligning HV scope with interconnection requirements, and assist in coordinating with the RTO / utility as required
• Conduct initial site assessments and support project construction and commissioning activities including visits to active construction sites to verify adherence to design standards.
• Review prime contracts, support proposals, and business development opportunities.
• Ensure project documentation is accurate and complete.
• Mentor and train other employees on technical and business aspects of projects and the industry.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in the solar industry.
• Effectively work on multiple projects at a time
• Travel to client offices and job sites as well as industry conferences

Qualifications :

• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering, Electrical or equivalent, Master's Degree encouraged,
• Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred,
• 10+ Years of experience in related transmission and substation design services
• Ability to read and interpret general arrangement, one-line, control schematics, and other drawings related to HV and MV design and equipment
• Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards and design software, proficiency in AutoCAD is preferred
• Experience with development, design, and construction support of solar generation, renewable natural gas and / or battery energy storage projects.

Additional Information

Many factors are considered when determining compensation at Pond, including scope and level of position, geographic location, candidate skill, knowledge and experience.

Starting base pay may vary depending on these factors. We anticipate filling this position as a Program Director with a salary range of $137,500.00 - $225,900.00 .

Additional cash incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial and / or other benefits dependent on position offered.
