Inglewood Unified School District is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Community Liaison Specialist! This incumbent will be responsible for performing a variety of duties in the support and maintenance of community relations and volunteer programs within the District.

The position requires graduation Graduation from High School or equivalent education. The position also requires two years of increasingly responsible experience directly-related to administering social services to families, community outreach, or parent involvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB SUMMARY :

  • Under general supervision, perform a variety of duties in the support and maintenance of community relations and volunteer programs within the District;
  • serve as a liaison between District programs, parents, students, teachers, counselors, community groups, and social service agencies;

performs routine clerical duties and other related work as required.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION :

Education, Training and Experience :

  • Graduation from High School or equivalence.
  • Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience directly-related to administering social services to families, community outreach, or parent involvement.
  • Bilingual preferred but not required

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :

A valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites may be required.

  • The examination process for this recruitment may be comprised of one or any combination of the following : screening of the applicant's training, background, and experience;
  • scored evaluation of responses on a supplemental application; written examination(s); qualifications appraisal oral examination;

performance examination; or technical oral examination, scored on a job-related basis. Only the most highly qualified candidates will be invited to continue in the examination process.

Successful candidates who pass all parts of the examination process will be placed on the eligibility list in order of their relative merit as determined by these competitive examinations.

The eligibility list for this classification will remain in effect for a period of 6 months.

Based on Full-Time Assignment :

  • Although new employees usually begin at the first salary step, advanced Salary step placement may be considered based on Merit system regulations.
  • 10 - 25 vacation days per year, based on length of work year and years of service.

  • Inglewood Unified School District offers a comprehensive benefits package including two Medical HMOs (Anthem Blue Cross), Dental, Vision, and Basic Life / AD&D benefits at no cost to eligible full-time employees, which are fully funded by the District.

Employee cost sharing applies to our Kaiser HMOs and Anthem Blue Cross PPOs. Eligible employees working less than full-time selecting any of our health benefits options would also contribute to the cost based upon their respective collective bargaining agreement.
