Job Duties :
- Program multiple different geometrically complex parts at various machining centers.
- Analyze drawings, solid models, and / or sketches to determine type and sequence of machine operations.
- Determine proper tooling selection for each part considering speeds, feeds, machine limitations.
- Work closely with junior machinists to set expectations and further develop their skills at a high level.
- Work closely with the CMM inspection lab; have an in-depth knowledge of metrology and GD&T.
Required Skills :
- Effectively communicate with interdisciplinary departments of the company daily.
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints accurately.
- Understanding of basic arithmetic and trigonometry.
- High level of organization and self-discipline.
- Ability to manually measure parts on and off a machining center.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience working in a high mix, low volume machine shop focused on the aerospace and defense industries.
- Familiar with working in a low volume, high mix manufacturing facility.
