Information Systems Adjunct Instructor

Job Responsibilities

Trident Technical College accepts applications for Information Systems adjunct faculty to build an active pool of qualified applicants.

The Business Technology Department invites applications for adjunct instructor positions starting in the 2024-2025 academic year .

Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching varying schedules at various locations, utilizing technology, and using various teaching methods in instruction.

All Information Systems adjuncts must teach at least one face-to-face course before being considered for online teaching opportunities.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

To qualify for these positions, you must have a master's degree in computer science / information technology , master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in computer science / information technology, or a bachelor's degree in computer science / information technology and five (5) plus years of information technology experience (computer programming, web development, database management / programming, etc.

Adjunct faculty positions require the submission of unofficial transcripts with the application.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidate will have experience in either or both the following Information Systems disciplines :

• Computer programming utilizing either Java, C++, C#, Python, or other similar object-oriented programming environment(s).
• Web development, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, etc.

Experience in the following areas is considered a plus :

• Working knowledge of databases such as SQL, MYSQL, Big data / analytics, etc.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Windows operating system and current MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
• Candidate having previous teaching experience in information technology is a plus especially if it includes experience in an LMS (Learning Management System) such as D2L (Desire2Learn).
