Job Description
Analyze and Optimize Transportation Processes : Evaluate current transportation processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Develop and Implement Solutions : Create and implement strategies to enhance transportation efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams : Work closely with other departments such as procurement, logistics, and warehouse management to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Monitor Performance Metrics : Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to transportation and logistics to ensure goals are met.
- Vendor Management : Manage relationships with transportation service providers, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with service agreements.
- Risk Management : Identify potential risks in the transportation process and develop mitigation strategies.
- Technology Integration : Implement and manage transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant technologies to streamline operations.
- Educational Background : A bachelor s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., APICS, PMP) are often preferred.
- Experience : Several years of experience in supply chain management, with a focus on transportation and logistics.
- Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and improve transportation processes.
- Project Management : Experience in managing projects and leading cross-functional teams.
- Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Technical Proficiency : Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and other supply chain software.
