Davidson-Davie Community College is accepting applications for the position of Payroll Services , a 12-month, 40 hours per week, salaried position available immediately.
This position reports to the Associate Vice-President, Financial & Administrative Services and involves providing payroll services for the College.
Essential Job Functions :
Processes full-time and part-time monthly payroll and disburses monthly deduction checks utilizing Ellucian software
Manages TimeClock Plus software for staff time entry and leave
Provides TimeClock Plus training resources to new employees
Maintains and documents all payroll and leave records
Identifies gaps in processes and recommends efficiencies
Monitors salary and fringe benefit budgets for all funds
Works collaboratively with Human Resources
Communicates with College staff regarding payroll information
Coordinates with respective divisions across campus to ensure payroll is submitted to Payroll Services on a timely basis
Documents and updates procedure manual for payroll processes
Processes federal, state and local payroll reporting, including income taxes, FICA taxes, retirement, W-2s, etc
Maintains monthly payroll calendar and ensures that deadlines are met
Processes monthly special reimbursement billings
Provides general assistance to staff members in the division by preparing documents, spreadsheets, reports, data queries, and other tasks as needed for special projects
Maintains office equipment and inventory of supplies
Works collaboratively with administrative support staff to develop cross-training opportunities and knowledge sharing
Maintains high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds
Performs other duties as assigned that achieve the mission and initiatives of the college
Supports the mission, vision, and values of the College and attends College events and meetings
Minimum Qualifications Required :
Associates degree in Accounting, Mathematics, Business Administration or related field from a regionally accredited institution, or significant progress toward the degree with anticipated completion date within 1 year
At least one year of payroll or finance office experience
Understanding of and commitment to College purpose, values, and vision
Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
Ability to accurately compile records and monitor information / data in an organized manner
Excellent computer skills and commitment to use of technology
Competence in using Microsoft office and other software applications
Ability to work interdependently in close team environment
Ability to manage multiple activities at once and prioritize effectively
Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college

- ADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability to process information and exercise good judgment;

Preferred Qualifications :
Related Business Office experience in a North Carolina Community College
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Mathematics, Business Administration or related filed from a regionally accredited institution.
