To oversee and direct the seamlessrunning of the bar, by providing a highly efficient and effective servicewhilst ensuring that all financial and statutory requirements are met, andsupporting the delivery of outstanding customer service.
Ensuring standards aremaintained and customer needs are anticipated and exceeded. Allduties are to be performed in accordance with company policies, practices andprocedures.
Essential Job Functions
- Effectively oversee and direct thebar in a smooth and operational manner
- Manageall staff members in the agreed standard of bar service during shift
- Guideand lead by example in all areas of bar conduct
- Liaiseand co-operate effectively with all other associated members of staff inrelation to all aspects of the production and service of food
- Train and develop employees, ensuring they have thenecessary skills to perform their duties
- Promotethe safe use of the bar, its equipment and building under the Health and Safetyat Work acts, Hygiene and other regulations
- Respondto any changes in the bar as dictated by the needs of the operations and thecompany
- Assumefull accountability for the bar stock and profitability
DepartmentResponsibilities
- To ensure the department ismaintaining its agreed level of operating performance at all times
- To communicate and delegate activities to the team
- To ensure all up selling opportunities are maximizedwithin the department
- To direct the setting up of the bar, ensuring allnecessary work is completed prior to the commencement of service
- To ensure the bar’s agreed operational budgets arestrictly adhered to, all costs are controlled and any expenditure approved
- To be aware of all relevant suppliers and their productsand order accordingly as and when necessary due to business demand
- To prepare department budgets or re-forecast, as requestedby the General Manager
- To ensure the standards and controls for health andsafety, hygiene, risk assessments, COSHH, manual handling and produce aremaintained as prescribed by legislation, the company and independent auditorsincluding weights and measures and licensing
- To ensure that all bar personnel strictly adhere tomanufacturers instructions of use of all machinery and equipment
- To ensure all bar lists are current and up to date
- To ensure the bar store is keptclean and tidy at all times
- To ensure that all bar equipment is maintained tooperating specifications and to complete weekly maintenance lists wherenecessary
- To manage the completion of all administrativedocumentation including requisitions and internal transfers relevant to thedepartments accountability
- To have a detailed knowledge of department brandstandards and be able to explain the standards to the team
- To ensure that all in house control systems / auditrequirements are adhered to at all times
- To attend meetings / trainingsessions as required by the management team
- Adhering to and maintaining cleaningchecklists and side work
