Job description

Why this job is awesome!

A lot feels uncertain these days, but if you're anything like me (and like the rest of us), one thing that remains as constant as ever : the need to eat.

Good food, fast is one of today's humblest and yet most refined luxuries. What about a chance to help make that happen? To help make it better?

This company - still in stealth mode has already grown to nearly 200 employees - is bracing to revolutionize the way we all get our hands on the absolute best food as quickly as possible.

While we can't give away the secret sauce just yet (apply to find out more!), this company has a recipe for success. With backing from some of the most seasoned investors in the game and a diverse team of smart, hard-working folks crafting one of the most exciting new ideas to hit the market, your competitive compensation, smart peers, and equity are all just icing on the cake.

This is a chance to hop on something that's going to be BIG before any of the rest of us know quite what it is. Sharpen your business savvy, gain insider information on innovation, and get in on the ground floor.

As the VP, of Organizational Development, you will have an opportunity at a high-growth startup to define and expand their new workforce.

In this role, you will lead the operational strategy of pre-talent acquisition, decide what perks will incentivize and attract new talent, and develop training programs for new hires.

If you love solving problems and are an operations leader with a strategic mindset, this might just be the role for you!

Role Overview

A major part of our business heavily depends on our skilled employees in the field, our Chefs On Road (CORs), who bring our operations to life by driving, preparing, and serving our customers with an exceptional hospitality experience.

Our business is unique, and so are the people that help make this come to reality. We want to attract and develop a world-class team of CORs who are motivated and trained to carry out the company’s mission.

As such, we have created a new job profile that is unique to the market but consists of bringing together general management and best practices in organizational development with a 360 focus on the COR community.

We’re looking for a leader to define and build an organization focused on the development of a completely new workforce - our growing Chef On Road (COR) organization.

You will do this by assembling a team that will be responsible for developing a compelling Employee Value Proposition to attract, develop, incentivize, and retain this community.

A major component of the role will include responsibility for COR Learning & Education, to include training & ongoing development of the community to keep their skills sharp and to evolve with the growing and changing needs of the business.

You will also develop and implement talent management strategies in partnership with the People (HR) team to ensure CORs are having the best possible employee experience.

You will help scale this program as we tap into new markets across the country and ensure that we are building an organization that thrives and grows through different attraction, retention, and development programs that you’ll develop.

This is an opportunity to truly create a new labor profile as well as directly shape the culture at a high-growth startup.

What will you do?

Identify and define the characteristics that are needed in this persona through industry-leading techniques such as A / B testing and other research.

Develop a compelling Employee Value Proposition (EVP) to ensure a successful partnership with the Talent Acquisition (HR) team that attracts and successfully onboards world-class talent.

Collaborate with operators to develop and set performance metrics to be monitored over time and form the basis for promotion and advancement.

Develop meaningful and innovative programs consistent with our culture, and include trainings, incentives, and a compensation framework that invests in our employees’ career progression and personal well-being

Leverage from data to iterate on tactics and strategies to drive forward a fail-proof approach on how we acquire, retain and develop our talent

Partner with the people team (HR & Talent Acquisition) on all talent management and acquisition efforts and requirements

What are you like?

The ideal person is someone who has been in a leadership role, helping grow and scale organizations by launching transformation projects and providing organizational and development leadership for a large organization with specialized functions.

Effective leader with proven success charting paths in new territory; comfortable with ambiguity

Experience working with and supporting field and hourly populations with an abundance of empathy

Brand development experience which blends our identity as a company with our identity as an employer

Creative thinker who is comfortable experimenting and innovating to create cutting-edge new programs

Knowledgeable of trends and best practices in the workplace that we can apply to our company
