Fast paced ambulatory surgical center looking for an individual that is outgoing, energetic, hard-working and loves helping people.
Medical office experience is preferred but not required. This is a full-time position with paid time off and a competitive insurance package.
You will be responsible for welcoming patients and families, physicians, and other visitors to the center.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES :
- Schedule surgical procedures
- Enter insurance and patient demographics into the facility computer software
- Gather all documentation necessary for surgical procedures
- Create patient charts
- Receive and direct incoming calls
- Distribute mail, messages, and assemble patient charts.
- This position will also work directly with the clinical staff members to properly understand length of procedure, surgical documentation and any special needs.
- Other duties include completing the daily payment log, bank deposit, and posting of payments collected and any other necessary duties.
REQUIREMENTS :
- High School Diploma, with 1-2 years experience in healthcare background
- Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures
- Knowledge of computer systems, programs
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Must be able to multi task
- Must be able to express compassion and kindness to patients calling and being seen in the office
- Must maintain a professional and upbeat attitude
- Skill in written and verbal communication and customer relations
- Ability to work with effectively with medical staff, Management, authorizations, external agencies and patients
- Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment
- Normal busy office environment with much patient contact
