Continental Schedule (3 days on / 2 days off then 2 days on / 3 days off).
POSITION SUMMARY :
Material movement, up to twenty-five (25) feet wide, using a forklift. You will be operating the forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety.
This position may be involved driving around the warehouse and other locations / departments within the facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Perform duties in a safe manner and follow all safety procedures.
- Material handling of material used at the facility.
- Operate forklift and company vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
- Receive or transfer material as needed.
- Locate and move stock of product or raw material to production workstations and / or open trucks.
- Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety.
REQUIREMENTS :
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.
- High School Diploma / GED preferred.
- Basic math, reading and record keeping skills required.
- Ability to maneuver 25-foot wide racks with proper material handling equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted and up to 75 pounds as a team lift.
- One-year experience in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- No serious traffic violations in the last 3 years; this would include NEVER being convicted of the following : reckless / careless driving;
- driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs; hit & run, leaving the scene of an accident or failure to report an accident;
excessive speeding 20 mph or more over the posted limits.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
- Work involves standing, walking, reaching, using a keyboard, stooping, kneeling, repetitive motion and moving, lifting or pushing objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Plant environment may be hot, floors may be slippery and uneven.
- May be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
- Noise level may be moderate to loud.
