Events Coordinator & Manager

POSITION SUMMARY :

The position primarily leads, organizes, and coordinates special initiatives and larger events at Hills Church. The Events Coordinator will also provide advice and assistance to the various ministries in organizing their smaller events.

The position is highly administrative, organized, creative, resourceful, and relational. The primary purpose shall always remain the effective delivery of special events that are cohesive and consistent with the direction and vision of Hills Church as a whole.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL :

  • Event planning, coordination, communication, and high-quality delivery of major events and special initiatives
  • Act as a central liaison point person for all major campus events
  • Build and recruit event volunteer teams for major events
  • Co-manage the Church calendar of events
  • Manage budget spending
  • Act as an advisor and provide support, when allowed by other duties, to ministry leaders for events for which they have responsibility
  • Manages the event process and policies
  • Coordinates with outside vendors (food vendors, event planners, etc.) including negotiating prices
  • Oversees various ministry events to reach a clarified standard of excellence
  • Collaborates with various ministry heads to expand their event quality
  • Maintains inventory of event supplies
  • Supports guest experience coordinator and Sunday teams
  • Conducts post-event follow-up and reports feedback to respective ministries and contacts
  • Acts as a liaison between maintenance staff and technical production team to create desired effects
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MUST-HAVES :

  • Demonstrates an ongoing and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Experience (or ability to learn) Planning Center Online People Management
  • A passion to see people gather
  • Love to help provide environments where people can connect
  • High-level networking / relational strengths with an ability to execute
  • A servant-leader temperament - willing to walk alongside people and serve them
  • Growth-orientated and see the potential in those around you
  • A team player with excellent communication skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
  • Great attention to detail and time-management skills - very administrative
  • Proficient in Google Drive Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and the use of Mac & PC's

NICE-TO-HAVES :

  • Experience working or high-level volunteering for a church or non-profit
  • Previous ministry participation and experience
  • You can appreciate different types of humor and go with the flow
