Job Summary

In Molecular Infectious Disease :

Molecular Lab Scientist :

Perform designated procedures as described in the Molecular Procedure Manuals with quality and timeliness consistent with the expectations of clients, physicians, and direct supervisor.

Medical Laboratory Scientist :

Under general supervision, provides advanced skills in the performance of moderate or high complexity laboratory tests for purpose of diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Clinical Laboratory Technologist :

Under direct supervision, provide basic skills in the performance of moderate or high complexity laboratory tests for purpose of diagnosis and treatment of disease within the scope of training.

Minimum Qualifications

Molecular Lab Scientist :

MINIMUM EDUCATION

Meet one of the following per CLIA regulations :

• Graduate degree (M.S. / M.A. or PhD). in relevant science
• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical or biological science
• Bachelor’s degree that includes : 24 semester hours of science courses that include (i) Six semester hours of chemistry;

ii) Six semester hours of biology; and (iii) Twelve semester hours of chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology in any combination and at least three months of documented laboratory training in each specialty in which the individual performs high complexity testing.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

• No experience required with graduate degree in relevant science
• Bachelor’s degree must have one (1) to three (3) years relevant molecular experience

PREFERENCES

Molecular Biology certification MB(ASCP) or equivalent

Medical Laboratory Scientist :

MINIMUM EDUCATION

Must meet one of the following per CLIA regulations :

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science
• Bachelor’s degree with 24 hours of science to include 6 hours of chemistry, six hours of biology and 12 hours of chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology, with documentation of completion of studies from a NAACLS accredited Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science or Clinical Laboratory Science program.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE :

No experience required.
