Position Overview : We are currently seeking a Senior Stress Engineer to join our team. This role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including the oversight of piping stress analysis, ensuring the flexibility, stability, and qualification of equipment nozzle loads in accordance with ASME B31.
3 Code. The selected candidate will work in close collaboration with layout personnel and pipe support engineers to achieve a design that is both high quality and cost-effective.
Furthermore, this position requires coordination with various engineering disciplines and vendors as needed.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Conduct pipe stress analysis of systems adhering to ASME B31.3 and other relevant industry codes and standards.
- Model piping systems to verify flexibility, stability, and qualification of equipment nozzle loads.
- Collaborate with layout personnel and pipe support engineers to deliver optimal design solutions.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as necessary to ensure project success.
Basic Qualifications :
- Proficient knowledge of ASME B31.3 and other pertinent piping codes and standards.
- Proven experience with pipe stress analysis software.
Educational and Experience Requirements :
- Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 9 years of related professional experience.
Minimum Requirements :
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical examination (if located at the construction site), and background check, including verification of employment and education.
- Eligibility to obtain a Department of Energy badge for site access.
- Must be a United States citizen.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Professional Engineering (PE) registration.
- Experience with pipe stress analysis programs such as ME101 and / or Bentley AutoPIPE.
- Prior project experience within the Department of Defense (DOD) or Department of Energy (DOE) sectors.
