Job Summary :

The ideal candidate starts with a good understanding of Windows desktop and application support, basic but solid skills (DHCP, DNS, TCP / IP, Windows Domains, MS Office, iPhones), good people skills, and a solid work ethic.

The IT Support Specialist will provide technical support to internal users and prioritize and escalate helpdesk requests.

Other core tasks include setting up new users and systems, installing and troubleshooting applications, and working collaboratively on projects and escalations within the department or 3rd party vendors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, and motivating presence;
• Maintain and promote professionalism;
• Self-initiative and motivation to work without requiring strict supervision;
• Perform Tier 1 & 2 technical support utilizing a help-desk ticketing system;
• Manage and triage support requests, ensuring all requests are captured in the ticketing system;
• Provision new user accounts, email setup, and appropriate access levels to new employees to ensure they have everything they require to work efficiently;
• Install and configure new technology, including computer operating systems, software programs, applications, laptops, printers, and other computer hardware;
• Procure, configure, track, and maintain hardware devices (PC, Tablets, Phones) for staff members;
• Perform regular maintenance to phone systems, computer systems, printers, cameras, and other technical equipment;
• Work with vendors for onsite repairs and quotes for IT equipment;
• Participate in company information security efforts, policy and process documentation, equipment inventory, service availability, system up-time, network availability, and other initiatives to improve the department;
• Collaboratively work with the IT Director to maintain the company server, domain controllers, and networking hardware;
• Performs other related duties consistent with the role and function of the specification as assigned by the IT Director.

Working Environment : Generally, works in an office environment but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.

Requirements :

• High School diploma required;
• 3+ years working in a user-facing hands-on technical role;
• Ability to learn new systems and skills quickly;
• Ability and desire to learn new skills quickly in a stressful environment;
• Familiarity with Windows, iOS Devices (iPads), and Printers;
• General knowledge of troubleshooting Internet Connectivity, phone systems, network systems, and other technological office equipment;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products & Microsoft 365 administration;
• Ability to perform basic Microsoft server administration (Active Directory, Security, Level-1 hardware networking);
• Valid Driver’s license and own transportation.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Associate Degree or higher in Information Technology;
• CompTIA A+ Certification;
• CompTIA Network+ Certification.

Physical Requirements :

• Interaction with people and technology while either standing or sitting.
• Must be able to communicate face-to-face and on the phone.
• Must lift 50 pounds unassisted, climb stairs, and crawl beneath desks and in tight areas.
