We are looking to add a Data Migration Specialist to our team ideally in our Birmingham, AL office. The Data Migration Specialist is an essential part of the Waverly Advisors team and our M&A strategy.

As the Data Migration Specialist, you will be responsible for the collection and analysis of data from the selling firm as we look to understand their book of business.

Additionally, you will own the process for moving their clients to Waverly. You will work closely with the rest of the post-close integration team as well as build positive relationships with clients.

A successful candidate will be able to effectively communicate with clients and team members and have excellent attention to detail, an energetic and positive mindset, and a willingness to learn.

Resiliency, flexibility, and the ability to anticipate needs are necessary in all tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for the architectural design, development, and data migration from legacy systems to current systems.
  • Experience working with big data, information retrieval, and data mining.
  • Experience architecting and developing data solutions in virtualized environments.
  • Effective written / verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ensure compliance with all Data Security mandates.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of data mining processes, decisions, and configurations for reference.
  • Contribute to additional projects as they arise.

Travel :

Minimal travel is required.

Our Ideal Candidate Will :

  • Have a general understanding of database base functionality.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have data mining experience.
  • Understand Microsoft Office Suite and be willing to learn and quickly grasp firm technologies.
  • Be a detail-oriented self-starter who is motivated by serving others and completing tasks efficiently and with excellence.
  • Possess excellent communication and organizational skills and have a willingness to learn.
  • Proactively initiate action and anticipate the needs of those the role supports.
  • Exhibit strong initiative and a team player mentality.
  • Have a can-do attitude where no task is too big or small.
  • Read and connect with people and respond accordingly in varying situations.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and conditions while maintaining a positive attitude and achieving performance standards.
  • Exercise independent time management skills with the ability to structure responsibilities, tasks, and project management while prioritizing and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Physical Requirements :

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
